There is no cure for stupid

I am always amazed of how stupid some folks can be.  I mean really dont you ever wonder if breathing wasnt involuntary that some folks would forget from time to time?  Today I am confronted with that thing we all as managers love personnel issues.  Seems some twit on our help desk took it upon himself to admonish the email administrator.  Now I am not sure what this jokers motives are, but I can say he has lost his mind.  In the scheme of thing a helpdesk analyst is really really low on the totem pole.   I mean probably not even shin level.  This analyst has the audacity to write to the email admin that she is rude and doesnt know her job.  Its not the first time we have had issues with this joker and he has upon a few occasions since I have been here tried to pull rank or authority that he does not have.  I am currently torn between an official write up or a stern talking too.  I would probably go with the later if I thought it would do any good.  I will let everyone know how this turns out.

On the Tech front I see the airlines are finally realizing that business travelers are their bread and butter and stepping up to give internet access onboard flights.  It a fantastic move even if it is a few years late in coming.  The Journal covers it here.  The first airlines that get this up and going will have a good marketing advantage for a while, this should motivate someone to do this sooner than later.

Zillow has relaunched and its great.  These guys know their stuff and its about time someone put the screws to the real estate industry.  The real estate industry where I use to work is about one of the few monopolies existing and yet it gets so little coverage.  Where else can you have the National Association of Realtors board members be the controlling interest in the largest web presence, Realtor.com , and allow them to make different rules for themselves and other sites.  Its really shady and alot of money moves around here under the tables.  I would urge everyone to negotiate hard with realtors and dont pay anything above 4% for anything.  The market is tight and the public is now in the drivers seat so dont give away the farm.  Anyhow go to Zillow and use it its great.

Arrington talks about the whole release of stats from Technorati.  I tend to look at it as more of an ego play than a for sale sign.  I have to disagree with Mike here.  Doing this release as public is not akin to putting a sign on the front lawn, especialy after some of the other sites rating Google ahead of them.  Its just a look at me I am still on top cry.

Apple made the release of the 8 core Macpro official today.  Not entiirely a well kept secret but its available now

On the Tennis front, I played last night with some guys on one of the teams I am on.  Nothing special was a tad tired but held my own.  19 more work days to vacation down at Hopman.  And for those keeping track I am 7lbs away from target weight.  Ok enough rambling from me….
