Saddlebrook Tennis Hopman Academy day 5 pm

I was worried coming off this am with my back being so stiff, but a little stretching, some advil and temps that got around 77 helped keep me loose this afternoon.  I changed, through John’s insistence, the follow through on my forehand.  It is now a little more whippy.  I am real inconsistent with it currently but hope with 5 more days I will have it down pat.  I did want to get into my service return, it sucks BTW, but there was one guy on our court who is leaving today who needed more help than I so I told John we can hold off til another day for this.  I feel better and better as each day goes as far as the fatigue goes, also there is no soreness now at all.  Which is a good thing since hoping on a plane being all sore is not something I would look forward too.  Like I said this am there are alot of people here who are not in the best of shape and I spoke to some of the pros about how they change things for the groups.  They said alot of effort is put into not only the level of play for the court groupings but the level of effort they want to exert.  From talking to the other campers, they do a pretty good job at it.  I plan a very low key evening, rest up and try to be in top form for tomorrows sessions.  Then I will ramble more

Saddlebrook Tennis Hopman Academy day 5 am

Physically this was the toughest day for me.  Its cool here, well cool for the Florida standards that I have experienced, highs today are suppose to be 79 very different from the the 90’s I have experienced.  I just could not get my back loose, and took way to many points off in the drills this morning.  So much of tennis is not taking shots or points off and keeping your intensity up.  There are so many places, this one included, that say practice harder than you play, something I just did not do this am.  John is back as my instructor and I like his style alot very informative and really on every stroke.  You dont hit a shot he doesnt comment on, some good some bad, but always a comment.  With John you know where you stand.  The group has changed, not on my court but there has been a big change in the campers here.  There are actually a court of 3.0 men and a woman playing with the 5.0 guys.  So the diversity in the play level is there this week, as far as I can see.  By days end I will be halfway through my trip and I must say it is everything I hoped for and feel I will be a better player when I return.  I need to be cause I have matches on the 15th and the 17th and I only return to NYC on the 13th.  When I knew I was coming down here I knew I needed to get in better shape and I now see how much fitness plays a role, so I am motivated to keep up and possibly increase my efforts when I return.  I have not seen any reviews in May on Tennisresortsonline I am curious what the folks who I met done here will write.  For me though everything has been stellar.

I will ramble more later
