Saddlebrook Tennis Hopman Academy day3 pm

This afternoon was great, hot but great.  It felt like it was well into the 90’s and the thunderstorms that came at 3:30pm confirmed we had high humidity too.  Forecasts say though tomorrow may get real hot again but then it should cool down for the beginning of next week.  In the afternoon we got another camper on our court a former WTA player and although she has been off the tour for 20 years, I am assuming since she is around 43, she was a great addition.  She kept up with all the drills and John was able to keep up the pace.  Plus she was so consistent from everywhere on the court.  Yes I am jealous but it was great to see a level I can aspire to.  When I got to see down here and other places some of the touring pros hit it is almost surreal, its a level I can never get too but this woman I think I can get there.  Playing with her was very motivating.  I feel there has been some marked improvement in m game and when I have my legs underneath me I can really see a difference, at 2:30 when they are jello I stink the place up.  One thing I did see is that my instructor for the week is a great shot tactician, he see small or large things that are wrong real fast and has the ability to have you make changes that can gt you improvement in a short time…heck most folks down here are here for 5 days tops so they dont have a lot of time to fix things…plus its tough for players when they get home to recognize the feel if they dont get it down here.  So far I could not have asked for a better experience and with 7 more days of instruction left I look forward to displaying some new skills on the court.  Ok enough rambling for me today

Saddlebrook Tennis Hopman Academy day 3 am

This has been my best day so far.  We were down to just me and one other on the court with John and the level was more intense alot more of how I expected it to be.  Yesterday it was tough for John to keep the pace up.  We had four campers and two of them did not want to put in alot of effort, more of the country club types.  I mean they were decent hitters but they were not here to bust it up.  I feel the game coming back together as yesterday afternoon it was just completely apart.  We did alot of drills and one on low volleys at the service line that just made my legs burn.  If I ignored the fatigue and got down low enough wow what a difference…so no more lazy volleys for me  lol yeah lets see if I can stay away from the haagen daaz long enough.  tonight they announced a gathering at TD’s after the session is over this should be fun. Rumor has it there will be quite a large crowd for the afternoon session so lets see how that goes…Ok I need to get some food
