Saddlebrook Tennis Hopman Academy day 2 pm

Well I was told that here at Saddlebrook they will get you shots to break down and then rebuild them.  Phase 1 has been accomplished.  I do not know whether I am just concentrating too much on what I need to do, but I couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn this afternoon.  I am not nearly as fatigued as I was yesterday, but I also think todays sessions were easier.  Too easy in fact but there is time left to change that.  There are alot more people here over the weekend almost crowded on the courts, though they do stick to the no more than 4 campers per pro.  And for those of you who care the ratio is about 3 women to every guy here, but they come in bunches.  Weather was not as hot as yesterday and late in the day we got some cloud cover.  Ok so it was for like 10 minutes but it was there and we all were thankful.  I noticed also the level of play is very different between the sexes.  the women top out at 3.5 and the men begin at 4.0.  I have yet to see a woman who could hit with any of the guys here.  I am going to try to take some pics in the next day or so and post them up too.

Well off to my afternoon nap

Saddlebrook Tennis Hopman academy day 2 am

Last night was rough, I was sore in so many places that I actually wondered if I would be able to make the full 10 days.  A good meal and a good night sleep and I was good to go.  Now don’t get me wrong, I didn’t feel up for running a marathon, but much better than the night before.  I have now come to the conclusion that breakfast here is real big, eat right for breakfast when you come.  A few women had the danish and coffee breakfast, lets just say they tuckered out real quick.  My court today has 4 guys, me and three others, but it is a lower level of play then yesterday.  I am probably one of the better on this court.  I am being instructed by John still and Vladimir did my private, whichit seems as though we are going to get everyday.  I feel some moderate improvement not so much on how the shots look but I can now feel what right is and without even looking at the ball just by feel I can tell good shot bad shot.  The level of fitness in the group is not as high as yesterdays and a couple of guys are quiting on the drills lowering how strenuous John is pushing us.  I could go with this for a day but hope the level picks back up.  I was old and fat when I got here, dont want to leave the same way and there isn’t much they can do with old..lol .  One of he things I also noticed is there are very few people here on their own, at least those staying at the resort which means if you don’t come with a group you have alot of time by yourself at night.  Well I am off to lunch then back on for the afternoon, which if yesterday is any indication is about to kick my butt…I will ramble more later
